🇰🇳 Why St. Kitts?
St. Kitts is what the Caribbean looked like before the big resort chains arrived. Lush volcanic peaks, pristine rainforest, beautiful beaches, a charming colonial capital, and a authenticity that more developed islands have lost. The Kittitian people are among the warmest in the Caribbean. The island pairs beautifully with neighboring Nevis — a quick ferry ride away — and together they form one of the Caribbean's most underrated twin-island experiences.
🌴 Things to Do
Brimstone Hill Fortress is a UNESCO World Heritage Site — a massive 18th-century British fortress carved into a volcanic hillside with panoramic island views. The Scenic Railway circles the entire island through sugar cane fields and mountain scenery — one of the Caribbean's most memorable experiences. The rainforest interior has excellent hiking with monkey sightings almost guaranteed. South Friars Bay and Cockleshell Bay have the best beaches with views across to Nevis.
- The Scenic Railway is a must — book in advance
- St. Kitts has wild African green monkeys everywhere — keep food secured
- Take the ferry to Nevis for the day — the island contrast is remarkable
- Pinney's Beach on Nevis is one of the finest beaches in the Caribbean
